Still in Jordan

Sorry folks I've been so slow to blog, but I have been pretty sick. After getting over mummy tummy I caught a cold. This is something I never do, but between being rundown from the runs and not taking my vitamins on my empty stomach I was vulnerable and caught Michaels cold.

I ran a low grade fever had chills and am now left with a cough. But definitely on the mend.

So---back to Jordan.

From our Bedouin camp we traveled through the dessert to the Dead Sea where we stayed in the Kampinski Hotel again. It certainly was a welcome relief to have all that luxury surrounding us once more. We were met at the door with warm wash cloths and glasses of cold juice. Very nice touch after a long drive.

There are 9 swimming pools here, 3 restaurants and some bars. The grounds are lovely, but the whole place is so big they drive you around on golf carts if you don't want to walk. That came in handy more than once.

We had a balcony off our room where we sat and looked across the sea to the West Bank and Israel. It gave me chills to see how close it was. My perspectives are surely being expanded.

How was the swim in the sea? Well, you can't really swim, just float on your back and paddle around. It is such a weird feeling. I didn't like it. I felt totally out of control, couldn't get my feet to go down so I could stand up. You literally can bounce up and down in the water, but not touch bottom.
Tom loved it as you can see.

I did tdo he black mud treatment though which no one else would do. I was covered with black mud from the sea, massaged, and allowed to dry for 10 minutes then hosed and rubbed down to get the mud off.
It is supposed to be a healthy treatment.
I did feel really clean and quite good afterwards. What do you think? Look like fun?

Tom and I went to the Italian restaurant for lunch. It was so good to have something besides arabic food. Fettuchini never tasted so good.

Tomorrow we have to leave this paradise and head for Egypt where we will see more incredible sights and probably get sick. They say everyone does. Maybe we will be exceptions.
